LA FORMA SPEZZATA

special project for Pietro ed Alberto Rossini Foundation

DESCRIPTION

book for children published by Einaudi and produced by FONDAZIONE Petro ed Alberto Rossini curated by F. Guerisoli
The infantile narrative formula chosen by the artist is a ploy to simplify a collective but also personal analysis, painful and inevitable to the point of becoming necessary in order to emancipate and change.

The margin is the province, a place where the echo of city news arrives faded and diluted, where discomfort takes on a different form from the suburbs and is more subtle because it is anesthetized by well-being. In these territories the questions become less pressing and the answers seem hidden within easy stereotypes. Thus, we see the progress of an education that passes through a patriarchal and racist society, which is repeated in every valley with the same intensity and shortsightedness, years in which media communication begins to take on post-educational roles by inculcating simple and vulgar dogmas that have the flavor of social control that passes through a playful and superficial attitude. We see the woman's body go from an object to be exhibited to an element useful for procreation, an idea of the narcissistic and rampant "male leader" who juggles between work and parties, who uses social upgrades such as the car and the villa. A family life that is stripped of common times, made up of quick meals and an almost religious affiliation to a promise of fast-food wealth, a time in which there was no talk of respect for the territory and healthy living to pursue a consumption model ruthless and satisfying.
As if on a huge Titanic, the province still tries to dance between populism and identity appeals, abandoned warehouses and wounded territories with secrets held deep in its heart so that no one can see them.

And here is the meaning of a children's book: a gesture of hope and confession, a ploy to be able to face existence, a choice to simplify what perhaps could not be said otherwise. the artist arrives at the essence as light as a fairy tale through which to forgive and forgive oneself with the hope of a new beginning.
